To honour the 15th anniversary of artistic program Vincent et moi, Hotel 71 (hotel71.ca)—a boutique hotel celebrating its 10th year in Old Québec—is proud to inaugurate the Vincent et moi gallery at Hotel 71, which will serve as a permanent showcase for artists with mental illness who create stunning artwork.   

All summer long, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, the Vieux Port and Saint‑Pierre rooms will be open for the public to admire the evocative works of Benoît Genest Rouillier, Richard Jolivet, Karine Labrie, Johanne Vallée and Ann Warren. The lobby and several other rooms are also expected to be open to public viewing and the artists will be on-hand to exchange with visitors.

“We are very sensitive to the cause of mental illness,” shares Susan Wilkinson, General Manager at Hotel 71, “and we firmly believe the gallery will provide a vehicle for the Vincent et moi artists to present their works and connect face-to-face with both our guests and art lovers, all while raising people’s awareness about mental disorders.”

About Vincent et moi

Vincent et moi is an artistic support and socio-professional integration program for artists living with mental illness. It was first started in 2001 at the Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Québec, now called the CIUSSS de la Capitale‑Nationale. The program’s main mission is to increase recognition and awareness of the artistic and cultural contribution of these artists, help grow their audience and support them in developing their art form.
